This weekend SUCKERPUNCH were on a pre-tour put your feet up session before the madness next week, so Neil decided to piss off up north to the first HRH PUNK weekender in Sheffield. Having met up with them cheeky FACE UP scamps and witnessed what can only be described as a mugging of the bands rider. normal stupidity resumed. There was just enough time to catch DISCHARGE and DIRT BOX DISCO and the COCKNEY REJECTS before it was time for bed, but initial thoughts were that it was a good set up, wicked sound and a massive venue. Only thing that was a bit strange was the very obvious metal merch market that goes hand in hand with HRH, I couldn't see the average Punx buying a leather drinking horn skull belt for a couple of hundred quid, but there you go. Sunday was game day for FACE UP and after nearly being evicted from their hotel (oops!) the band went for some food and we had a good old time before load in. Everyone was looked after really well by the venue and stage crew and after a load in with the heaviest drum shit known to man it was smash time. The band absolutely killed it and were very at home on a large stage.
A good festival in a decent venue, it can only get better and better, You never know, your friendly neighbourhood SUCKERPUNCH might be up for giving it big licks next year!
